Had a great post
I was writing a post a few minutes ago about how all of the issues in the global and US markets are making me think about business and where to be to make money. Then my FireFox crashed (it seems to be doing that a lot lately) and poof there goes my great post…

Simulscribe + iPhone
From a SimulScribe side it is just awesome to see posts like this, thanks Bijan. As someone watching the mobile markets it makes me think a lot about how other phones such as Blackberry will be affected by iPhone’s push email services.  We are seeing a lot of customers carry 2 devices, iPhone and Blackberry, which means that as soon as the email is working to people’s liking on the iPhone I see a...

Marc Andreessen's Post (a must read) →
Fred posted some of this but you really have to read the whole thing it is awesome. It actually plays on some thoughts that I have had recently that I am putting into a future (this week) post.  Definitely worth the time to read this post, thank Marc!

How Tumblr makes me better
I really believe that blogging has made me a much better founder and CEO of SimulScribe.  Blogging has become such an important communications means with the market and really understanding it is hard without doing it. I started this blog because I saw what Fred Wilson, Josh Kopelman and Bijan Sabet were doing and realized that the reason they understood the space so well is because they did not...

Entrepreneurs Rule
I am reading an article in the Wall Street Journal about the US Condo market and how bad it is.  The last paragraph of the article ends telling about how a recent conference in Florida on foreclosures was so over attended that they had to turn people away.  The media spins to what sells papers, so the title of “Woes in Condo Market Build As New Supply Floods Cities” should really be...

“Peak oil is for real. The supply can’t keep up with global demand, even if it...”
– Jim Kunstler (via azspot) Peak Oil is scary shit (if it is real).  However it is the fear that will hopefully drive the brains to figure out a better way to energy, people like Vinod Khosla might just push the fix.

Congrats to Spinvox
Our main competitor Spinvox raised $100 million announced yesterday, that is on top of the $100 million they raised previously.  They took this recent money in at a $500 million valuation…  If anyone wants to buy SimulScribe I will give them a 50% discount off of Spinvox’s most recent valuation, please email me for wire info if interested:)

Disqus - Our Most Recent Investment →
I use Disqus and really like it.  Glad to see that Union Square Ventures invested in it. Lucky guys, I wish Union Square had invested in us… :)  fred-wilson: Disqus announced a new feature release and an investment today. Union Square Ventures participated in the round I explained why on the Union Square Ventures weblog …

To Resume or not to Resume... →
We interviewed a few people today and I did not even look at the resumes.  I have found personally that I have been unable to use a resume to better my chance of hiring a good person.  I now look for other key characteristics and hire based on those. There is obviously a need for resumes in the corporate world but outside of that I just find them useless fluff sheets.  The best hire in my...

Let me in Xobni
Xobni is awesome, Sean at Xobni is a reader of my blog and I am sure when he sees this will help you out. thegetdownguy: I’ve been wanting to try out Xobni for a while. I’ve tried emailing them and tried to get the badge to promote here. Still haven’t received it. Anyone know how I can cut in line?

Bill Gates to Congress: Microsoft needs more H-1B... →
I hope that Bill has some pull here.  We have really hurt the American economy by not allowing for educated immigrants to easily enter our country and stay here.  All of my H-1B friends that went back home after 9/11 and the clamp down on immigration have started businesses and tech companies at back in their native countries.  The companies could all be in the US creating jobs and strengthening...

Toll Free Numbers
I remember a while ago that having a toll free number was something that gave people the impression that your company is real.  At this point when I am looking for a local service online if I see a toll free number I usually skip the company and continue to look.  I find that most places that look local online and have toll free numbers are typically lead generation companies. I was thinking of...

On Hold
Listening to some really shitty music on hold for GoDaddy.  For some reason every 6 months or so they go crazy and our passwords stop working.  Additionally their “reset password” email seems to never arrive, so every 6 months I get to sit on hold with them. I like them otherwise and I like their attitude, just wish I never had to speak with them I really like automated self-support.

– -A SimulScribe Customer Part of the fun of running a start-up like SimulScribe is that it allows me to interact with lots of people.  Some I have even become friends with.  This customer is someone that had a problem and we ended up chatting on email a bit.  His email about being a parent was...

Tesla Electric Car
If you have not seen the video of the Tesla yet, check this out, http://www.teslamotors.com/blog2/. It is promising to see that electric cars will probably be more fun then their gas counterparts. As long as gas continues to climb, money will flow into alternative investments like this and really cool shit will continue to happen.

It's a boy!
When Erin and I went to our last ultrasound about a month ago the doctor told us that he was pretty sure (80%+) that it was a girl. Well… he was wrong, it is a boy. A little bit of a shock just because we were pretty sure it was a girl but who cares it is healthy and that is what really matters! Sorry just to be clear, he is due July 29th, this was the second ultrasound.

More Craigslist
Bought a few more items on Craigslist today for the kitchen, a Rangetop, Oven and Vent.  I wonder if Ebay is going to be able to dent Craigslist with Kijiji or if someone else is going to take them out.  I am more and more conviced with each purchase that they are going to get their clock cleaned by someone who fixes their massive fraud problems.

Obama on Iraq
I can’t stop thinking about the quote that I re-blogged from Obama on Iraq that he did in 2002.  They should just do commercials of him speaking that clip.  If anyone has any questions about his ability to lead this country I think it is all summed up in what he said.  In my mind this makes him part of a very small handful of people that have the ability to look past emotion and lead based...
