The Official FriendDA →
I wrote about FriendDA back in April. Josh Kopelman was the first person who I had ever heard the term from. Now I just saw that there is a site, www.friendda.org that has the official FriendDA contract, awesome.
If you are too lazy to go to the site I have included the contract below, worth the read:
This agreement is entered into this ___ day of ___ 20__ by and between _____________...
The most disappointing answer is when they say “Oh, we’ll just make it viral.”...

I can’t wait to see this movie, called Extraordinary Measures. It is the true story of John Crowley, a dad that was just not willing to listen to traditional medicine for his children’s life threatening conditions. I first saw the story in a article in WSJ or NYT a few years ago.
I am such a big believer that medicine has hit a self-imposed ceiling of innovation and that the next...
Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life

I saw this quote on one of those cheesy sings in a gift shop in San Diego today. Thought it was such a awesome one.
Video Conferencing in the real world
I have been watching the video conference market for a while as it seems to be one that will get interesting. A few years ago at Nobel we had a Sony system between our San Diego and Bucharest offices. It worked pretty well and video conferencing definitely was a better way to communicate then just voice with the team. Recently the market has heated up with Cisco’s purchase of Tandberg for...

It will be interesting to see if the pennies that will be made by the carrier on search will make up for the longer term effects.

The email excuse
I think that email has brought great productivity to the world and specifically to my life. In fact PhoneTag was built as a application on top of email so I have a lot to be thankful of when it comes to the invention of email.
However email has made us sometimes forget about a more powerful communications tool, the telephone. How many times have you heard directly or overheard, “I emailed...
A must have tool for any entrepreneur
The one thing that I miss from making the switch to Apple was losing Microsoft Paint. In MS Paint I could put together mock ups of sites very quickly to show to the designers where my head was at. I tried doing the same with Paintbrush but it is not nearly as functional as MS Paint.
Mark, my co-founder of PhoneTag, found this really cool company that allows you to very rapidly make and share...
I never thought of this...
A few days ago I posted a map of the Google street view coverage in the US. I was impressed how much coverage they now have even in very rural areas.
My buddy Tyler from Mahalo commented on the post, “Now if they’d only do a deal with the USPS or UPS to put cameras on top of their trucks to keep it updated!” I am not sure if they thought of that yet (I figure they have) or...
I could not be prouder!
My wife Erin was included in the Hollywood Reporter “Nex Gen” list of the top 35 young up and coming execs in Hollywood. Her profile in it is here. While she might not be an entrepreneur like me, making it to the level that she has in Hollywood is a far bigger accomplishment then anything I have done.

Are LED light bulbs the future?
I just bought a 6 watt LED bulb that puts out 60 watts of light. I got it here on Amazon. I am interested to see how the light looks compared to a regular bulb and Compact Flourescent bulb (CF).
While the LED bulb is much more expensive then the CF bulb it lasts a lot longer, is more durable (CF bulbs have very high failure rates) and does not have the toxic materials like mercury that are...
