I am starting to feel like a broken record but I will say it again, if you are in the technology space and people have an interest in what you are doing then Google will become your competitor.  So if you own stock in a company like Garmin or TomTom you should have already discounted your shares for Google’s entrance, their official announcement should not scare you.
Which now brings up the question from the other side, when does Google have to start to worry about people picking away at its businesses?  Does the we do everything approach work in the long run or do specialists come and eat your lunch?
