Being available to the customer

There are just so many things that can be done in a business, a lot of times you have to ask yourself where do you stop.

It is now 12:26 am and I am sitting here emailing customers.  I can not help myself, I really like interacting with our customer base but it can really take up a lot of time.  Every night I look through all of our orders and customer service tickets and interact with customers on all levels (dealing with positive and negative experiences).

My belief is that talking directly to a customer and allowing a customer to directly contact the heads of a company is critical.  I have both my cell phone number and email address on our website.  If you have customers you will piss off a few of them, it is not intentional but it does happen.  Why not let a pissed off customer contact anyone they want quickly and easily.  99% of the time they end up staying a customer and typically the most dedicated.

Not sure why more companies do not do this…?
