A new company called Square launched last week with a lot of excitement in the techie world.  The founder of the company is Jack Dorsey who also is one of the founders of Twitter.

It is a mobile payments service that has this little credit card reader thingy that plugs into your cell phone headset jack.  I was thinking when I saw this little dongly thing why not just use the camera to take a photo of the credit card and scan it. 

When I saw this video on TechCrunch about Google Goggles it made me think that if Google just used their scanning tech on the credit cards they could plug that into their Google Payments system…
