Cleaning out an old desk and found this, the PalmVIIx with wireless internet. I remember getting it, completely amazed about the wireless Internet and what it could do.
The best hack of the Palm VII was using it as a makeshift GPS from the plane. You could keep refreshing the weather which would tell you what town you were over (or at least until the flight attendant caught you and shut the little science project down)
I loved every Palm I had, all the way till the 700p for Verizon. The problem with Palm for me is that with everything that they did they never perfected email which in the end is what I believe really killed them. They really should have bought GOOD technologies when they had the chance, then they would have been a true Blackberry competitor.
They are one of the innovators that actually make me sad about how much they blew such a great opportunity as a first mover.
