Starbucks needs mobile ordering

Starbucks ubicado en el Distrito de San Miguel...Image via Wikipedia

I am not really a Starbucks guy but my wife likes to go there and get her morning coffee.  Our local Starbucks in Pacific Palisades, CA always has a ridiculously long line.  So failry often when she goes there, she sees the line and leaves.

So, Starbucks should team up with the mobile carriers to do payment and ordering via SMS.  The reason that they need to team up with the carriers is currently on payment deals using the mobile the carrier takes about 45%, that would be way too high.

Anyway if each Starbucks had a short code, you could just text your local Starbucks your drink order and pick it up at the bar when you get there, billed to your phone.  This would allow Starbucks to increase the sales on the current stores that literally just can’t do any more business and are turning it away at peak times.
