Grudges

If you are going to be an active serial entrepreneur you are going to work with a lot of people and friends.  Some of those relationships will go great, others will be neutral and some will just suck.

When it comes to the ones that go bad, a lot of times I find it is my fault that this happens but other times the person has done something that I can just not accept as being fair.

I have typically held grudges on these.

Recently I decided that these grudges are not healthy and overall are counter to my life goals of happiness and success.  Additionally a lot of these people were my friends and it has been sad to have business/money create a loss in the overall relationship.

I am forgiving grudges but not forgetting the reasons behind them.  Many of these relationships that went south should have never been business relationships in the first place.  My personality and way of making decisions just does not fit theirs.

In doing this I have been very open with people about what I have felt was wrong and that we should never be in business together again, and that we should just go back to being friends.  So far that approach has allowed me to feel good that I am being open with everyone and at the same time allows for a sort of “fresh start”.

It might sound a little like a cliche but it really does feel good to clean the tables and wash the bad crap out of your mind.
