It really is a shame that he died.  He did so many interesting things and was the kind of guy that through his record breaking activities really helped to push some cool technologies.

Today I saw on Mahalo that he had paid for a super deep one man submarine that would allow him to go to the deepest aprt of the ocean, 37,000 feet down. 

There are lots of people that pay millions to go to space, I would pay millions (if I had them) to take this sub to the bottom of the ocean.  I would really like to see what it is like down there.

Hopefully someone will take and finish this project now…
