Back from Mexico

I just got back from 4 days in Cancun at the Summit Series. The event was incredible and the entrepreneurs/CEO’s that attended were truly an impressive group.

I was most impressed by Scott Harrison who is the founder and president of charity: water (www.charitywater.org) He gave a presentation that had the entire audience speechless and moved. Scott is redefining what I (and I think the rest of the crowd) have as a stereotype for how a charity looks and acts. Their design would make Apple jealous and their ability to execute matches that of any successful startup. With 7 people they have been able to raise over $7.5 million for clean water so far and from the looks of it they will grow that number massively in the future…

The best part about the event was the diversity of the attendees. Everyone had a different story, from various backgrounds and all with unique personalities. The one thing that everyone shared in common was that all of their businesses and success follow their passion. I am fortunate to attend events like this and be able to meet such great people. Besides the very clear benefit of doing a few business deals, the chance to learn things from such a diverse group of entrepreneurs is priceless.
