Mahalo Answers Review

I was look
ing to see if I could find the total number of Voicemails left per month in the US last night. I decided that I would try out Mahalo’s new service, Answers.
Overall I think that the service is great. I posted my question and offered $100 (Mahalo takes 25% as a transaction fee so the winner only gets $75) which is their maximum as a bounty for the best answer. I decided to max out the bounty for fun… most people post questions without any compensation or $1-$5.
Almost immediately I received about 100 views and about 4 answers. One of the answers went about solving the problem in a way that I had not thought of. As you can imagine I have been working in the voicemail market for a while so it was nice to see a fresh approach…
I was able to chat a bit with the people answering to get deeper to the facts and in just under 24 hours I had at total of 9 answers and one that I felt deserved the $100. You can see it here.
From a business side I love what Mahalo is doing, creating enormous amounts of searchable content, from a consumer side I would use Mahalo answers again as it saves me time from having to Google around and find the stuff myself.
