Andy Abramson, Thank You!

I have eluded to an “issue” that I had with a VC backed start-up (a new one not SimulScribe/PhoneTag) I was doing in late 2008 and the fall out that happened when the lead VC pulled out after the scheduled wire date.  Since I have little interest in publicly spreading negative news about anyone, that is about the most I will go into the bad parts of it.

However bad situations like the bad economy have a positive side to them.  They make it very clear who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.  With that said I can tell you that Andy Abramson the blogger and CEO and founder of Comunicano is one of the most honorable people I have ever met in business.

Our closing date for the VC round was supposed to be in October, so as any good entrepreneur I planned programmers, PR, consultants, etc. to start then.  Comunicano was hired to assist us from finalizing the business plan to creating and implementing our message to the public.

I signed a contract with Comunicano which had them starting in October, which they did.  Andy’s company put a lot of time and money into helping us form our business.  When the lead VC pulled out tanking the deal I emailed Andy telling him what happened and if there was a way to work with the bill…

The bill was not small, Andy and his company had done a lot of work.  Andy emailed me back and said lets chat later but he would work with me.  Later was Sunday (February 8th).  Andy told me to get my business going (which will be announced soon), not worry about him for now and that he knew that in the future we would do more together.

Andy could easily create problems for me both contractually, financially and mentally.  But he decided to take the high road.

It is easy when things are going well to be known as the guy who does the right thing, Andy has proven that no matter how hard it is, he will always do the right thing.

If you are looking for PR/Corporate/Communications, etc. in telecom, hire Andy and Comunicano.  They are by far the best company in the field and Andy is by far one of the most honourable people you can find to work with.

So thanks Andy for allowing this entreprneur to focus on building my business, the favor will not be forgotten!
